Empire Builder Railroad Designs has built the largest and most impressive G-Scale and rideable railroads in the Phoenix Valley for over 10 years. The name Rick Cartwright is now synonymous with beautiful railroads. He has built The Dynamite, Rio Verde & Eastern, The Pinnacle Peak & Northern, The Verde Valley Line, The Canadian Southern Pacific, The Paso Fino Railroad, The Gibbs Scenic Railway and currently The Gem & Fossil Railroad all in North Scottsdale. The Squaw Peak & Junior (Biltmore area), The Dust Devil & Western (Central Phoenix), The Phoenix, Albuquerque & Barstow (North Phoenix), The Boulders & Black Mountain Central (Carefree, AZ) and The Bird & Bear Railroad (Tahoe City, CA).

Although some of the railroads are smaller, the average Empire Builder RR has approximately 2,000 - 2,500 linear feet of track, 100 feet of bridges, numerous cuts, tunnels, towns, airports, mines, etc. If you can imagine it, Rick can build it. He doesn't just build a railroad, he builds an EMPIRE.
