The Verde Valley Line is located in Rio Verde, AZ just north east of Phoenix and built on the Rio Verde golf course in 2004. As much as Rick loves building railroads, some are more memorable and more fun than others. Working with Connie & Dale on this railroad and having them as clients and friends was just a distinct pleasure. And though this railroad is also relatively maintenance free, it's always a pleasure to see them when they call.

The pictures here depict making the largest trestle on the Verde Valley Line. As we've said before Rick builds all of his trestles from the ground up. The pictures here will give you an idea of the process of trestle building. Rick sees the area the trestle will sit in his mind, does a preliminary drawing and sets about designing it. He is an artist and a master at his craft. All are hand built and strong enough for a man to stand on.
